The Sone Horse
Section II provided some descriptive writing that was intriguing as it starts off with a conversations between Lopez and an archaeologist. The description of how the conversation/meeting took place provided enough detail to make me feel like I was the third-wheel. Specifically describing the map that was laid out was rather humorous to me (Automobile Club of Southern California map of Imperial County, p.499). Later, Lopez describes the moment when he encountered the horse. Recalling "being startled" and "held my breath" (p.500) describes the emotions that he was feeling at the time.
